WRITING A LETTER OF COMPLAINT...

(1) Unfurtunately, because of your poor service, our weekend was a disaster.
On July 16th my friends and I arrived at your inn hoping to spend an enjoyable weekend.

(2) Despite these problems, none of your employers apologized to us.
Since your ad says "have a fabulous time or get your money back," I am requestiong that you refund our money.
From the moment we arrived, there were problems with the service. First, a very unfriendly desk clerk could not find our reservation. After waiting almost half an hour, we were led by another unfriendly clerk to our room. The room, which had a view of a parking lot instead of the bay, had not yet been cleaned, so we found dirty towels on the beds and cigarrete butts in the ashtrays.

(3) Until things change at your inn, I will never recommend it to anyone.
This was not the weekend we had been looking forward to.
Service at your inn was not always like this. My previous visits were always enjoyable because of the courteous service and clean rooms with beautiful views. I expect to receive my refund shortly.
Sincerely yours.

Should you go for what your heart says or go for what your head tells you ?

7 to 9 years is a big gap when couples are young. It's less of a big gap when couples are older. What's important is how both either man and woman feel about each other. But if you guys are young, you should realize that someone who is 7 to 9 years younger than you is living in a different world than you are. Everything changes every year when you're young. I'm sure you remember. The fact is that there are plenty of examples of age disparities in couples working out. My own parents are 10 years apart and have been married for over 50 years now. I know another couple married over fifty years who is 13 years apart. Having said that, 7 to 9 years is a long time when you're young. I would consider accepting someone a little bit if he's up for that to see how we work out together. But hold off on doing anything significant (either physically or in terms of moving in or uprooting each other's lives, etcetera). Just proceed with caution and make sure you both understand what you're getting into.

TRUE OR BELIEVES ABOUT GINSENG....

Ginseng, a medicinal herb, has long been used in maintaining physical vitality throughout the far-eastern countries including Korea and China.
The Chinese have been using ginseng for over 5000 years. They composed the name ginseng from two words meaning “Man Plant” from its frequent likeness to the human form.
Ginseng is one of nature’s greatest gifts. It is used to increase physical and mental endurance, boost energy, normalize body functions, reduce cholesterol, and prevent cancer. Traditionally, ginseng has been used to enhance sexual desire, by promoting sex hormone production. There are a number of ways to take ginseng. Some Asian users simply chew on the slightly sweet, licorice flavored roots.
Personally, I like to take it in liquid with my breakfast so that I can have enough enery during the whole day.
I recommend it. It has really worked on me.

About Lucy.........(pg.11)

Lucy Gomez is the most creative person I know. She started piano lessons when she was only 6 years old. At school, she was always creating interesting projects in her art class. When she was only 12 years old, she won a citywide poetry contest. Her parents were very proud of her.
Now Lucy works as a sitcom writer for a popular T.V. show. She works with a group of writers, and together they have to think of fresh idea. They also have to come up with funny dialog for the actors on their show because the actors have to play believable characters that will make the audience laugh. It is not an easy job, but Lucy does it well.

Lucy is very curious. She likes to travel and meet new people who have opinions that are different from hers. She often carries a notebook with her and writes down what she sees and hears. Lucy tells me that these new experiences are a good source of ideas for her work. I always enjoy talking to her and am happy to know someone as brigh and creative as Lucy.

Many changes happened when I was a teenager...(pg. 69)

I rememeber my adolescence as a time that just happend fairly quick, well, I mean that I wish I have done many other thing I could do or I was able to do. For example, I should have studied a carrier; and unfortunatly I did not follow my parents' advice. And finally I decided to get married with my first boyfriend.
So, that I have an deep regret in my life, because I got married so young that I could not continue my studies.
I remember parts of my life and oportunities that I had as a teenager, like studying in Canada for one year before getting married. That made me grow up a lot because I got used to take my own decisions and also helped me to be more organized and responsable. It was an amazing experience to meet different people with different culture and of course, I started to learn English.
I am also glad that I had my children very young. So, I can say I have achieved good goals as a mother also it have been hard sometimes to take desicions. But, anyway I would never change my life as a young momy.

Walking at the park (book..pg. 61)

One day I was taking a walk at the park that is located in front of my house when suddenly, I ran because my son was calling me to help him at the moment he threw the ball into a tree. After that, I went back home to take a broom, so that I could push the ball away from the tree.. As soon as we got the ball I decided to play basketbal with him and stop walking, just then he told me that it had been just an excuse to play with me.
The next day I started playing basketball with my son Gerry before taking my walk.

How Mexican people celebate The days of the Dead

Here in Mexico it is a very popular Holiday, also Mexican love these days; it is a kind of mix between happiness and sadness; but foreigners have more trouble understanding"Los Dias de Los Muertos" than any of Mexico's other fiestas. First of all , Day of the Dead decorations, colored paper garlands, little skeletons performing daily tasks and sugar skulls inscribed with names remind visitors of Halloween. Other tourists discover that much like Memorial or Remembrance Day back north, families here visit, clean and decorate graves of loved ones for the November 1 and 2 holidays. Many families honor their ancestors and dead with home altars, laden with harvest fruits, traditional bread with crossed bones on dough on top, all to greet the spirits as they return to the home for 24 hours each year. Personally I have never done these traditions but I admire, like and enjoy all of these.

What Does the Name 'Halloween' Mean?

  1. It is well known that halloween is contrary to popular beleifs, it is a ancient traditian created between pagans and christians, although it later got shifted over to paganism rather than christan.
  2. Halloween was supposedly a day when demons, ghosts, zombies etc came back from the dead nothing to do with witchcraft and the say after, also known as all saints day was when the angels, saints etc came down from the heavens
  3. and faught with the goulies and banished them back to hell. But.. the tradition in my country is by celebrating on the night of October 31st.,most notably by children dressing in costumes and going door-to-door collecting sweets.
I remember my childwood, when I used to do this with my friends and cousins around our neighborhood...I always get back home with my pumpink basket full of candy. I enjoyed it a lot.

In general, people from the city............

In general, people from Tampico like to spend Sundays at leisure. Many of them usually visit Madero's beach as a family day. They must first prepare something to eat for lunch, it could be sandwiches or a tuna salad. Many others get some fast food before going to the beach, it might be fried chicken or hamburguers. Personally, I like to make something at home and take some fruit and juices in a coller with ice. The mean reason for this is to share moments with the family.
For example, when I was a little kid my parents used to take my brothers and me every Sunday. We enjoy a lot swimming and making sand castles.
For the most part many others families from Tampico often go to church on Sundays in order to be grateful to God for the benefits that have gotten during the whole week, including health and life.
Many others prefer to take a walk or practice any sport in a city park in order to keep them active.
Generally speaking people from my city have fans at home, work and schools to get fresher inside, many others have air conditioners during the Summer, because most of the time the weather is so hot here.

Do you know there are many benefits about drinking coffee?

Coffee is a widely-consumed stimulant beverage prepared from roasted seeds, commonly called coffee beans, of the coffee plant. Coffee was first consumed in the 9th century, when it was discovered in the highlands of Ethiopia.
Millions of people around the world love nothing more than to start their day with a steaming cup of coffee; I include myself. The smell, the taste, the caffeine lift and the shared experience of coffee have become a staple of our modern life and culture.
So, I would like to talk about some benefits that we can find drinking a cup of coffee:
Coffee helps to improve alertness, attention and wakefulness and by that means it facilitates relevant learning. When the study is tedious, boring and not motivating, coffee helps to give you the energy to study and to make the best of it. The caffeine in your cup of coffee helps you process the information from your study books and the lessons you follow.

When the study is tedious, boring and not motivating, coffee helps to give you the energy to study and to make the best of it. The caffeine in your cup of coffee helps you process the information from your study books and the lessons you follow.
At the World Coffee Conference in London in 2001, Professor Peter Martin, Director of the Institute for Coffee Studies confirmed that:" The latest scientific evidence indicates that in moderation (2 - 4 cups per day) not only is coffee not bad for you, it may offer so many health benefits like:

Coffee contains hundreds of compounds that may help with research into some of the most prevalent diseases of our time (heart desease and cancer) and one of the most exciting discoveries is the significant presence of antioxidants within coffee beans. Antioxidants are proven to help mitigate the chances of heart disease and cancer (the two biggest killers deseases today).
There are also a number of studies that show the beneficial effects of drinking coffee and or caffeine ingestion on high intensity exercise.
Also, it is very important to mention that drinking coffee is linked with social pleasure, so, pleasure is one of the main antidotes to boredom.
It is an activity that helps to reduce the stress and axienty which is a necessary feature of everyday activities.
Coffee raises mood, improves our concentration and may even promote the well-being of the immune system, so enhancing our ability to cope not only with life, but to enjoy it.
So, drinking coffe it is not as worse as many people think....

Chocolate...It is a delicious way to be cheerful.....

I would like to talk about this delicious thing has always made me happy. The first people known to have made chocolate were the ancient cultures of Mexico and Central America. These people, including the Maya and Aztec, mixed ground cacao seeds with various seasonings to make a spicy, frothy drink. Later, the Spanish conquistadors brought the seeds back home to Spain, where new recipes were created. Eventually, and the drink’s popularity spread throughout Europe. Since then, new technologies and innovations have changed the texture and taste of chocolate, but it still remains one of the world’s favorite flavors.
Many people eat chocolate when they are sad or feeling down.
Others crave the stuff, claiming they are addicted to chocolate’s unique taste and smell. Some even assert that chocolate can relax you, help you lose weight, and even prolong your life.
Chocolate was thought to have aphrodisiac qualities by the Aztecs, so when it was first introduced to Europe it was natural that people continued to associate it with love.
Chocolate contains substances called Phenylethylamine and Seratonin, both of which are mood lifting agents found naturally in the human brain. They are released into the nervous system by the brain when we are happy and when we are experiencing feelings of love, passion or lust. That is why we feel so exciting when we eat it.
Eating chocolate also releases Phenylethylamine and Seratonin into the system producing those same euphoric effects, plus it can give a substantial energy boost thus increasing stamina , so it's probably these effects which gave rise to chocolates reputation as an aphrodisiac.
Finally, the secret could be just to take a little chocolate bar daily in order to be full of satisfaction. Also eating dark chocolate daily for two weeks may lessen the risk of heart disease. But try to avoid eating excesively in order to keep in good shape.

One of the largest cities in the world.......

If you think about visitng a place where you can spend the time with different kinds of activities it should be New York city. You ought to find a lot of things to do like cultural, nightlife, scenery, shopping, festivals, places with the best cuisine etc..
It is the largest city in The United State and the third largest in the world. There are eight millions people living in the city; and nineteen millions in all the metropolitan area. Can you imagine how crowdede it is? Well, that is why you never get bored there. This city is sometimes referred as " The city that never sleeps" or "The big apple"
The city consists of five districts called "boroughts" too. They are: The Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island.
This city has been welcomed to thousands of immigrants from all around the world. Since European discovered it in 1524. But, it was founded in 1624 as a Dutch trading post. Nowadays, N.Y. has over 40 million of local and foreign tourists , you may consider it as one of the top tourist destination in The U.S.A.
The most important places in order to be visited should be: Empire State Building. It rises 1,250 feet at the 102nd with 10 to 20 thousand visitors daily 20 thousand visitors daily.
It is located on fifth Av. It has been named by the American Society Civil Engineers as one of The seven Wonders of the modern world. Also it was ranke number one The List Favorite's Architecture according to the AIA.With the destruction of Trade World Center in September 11th 2001; The Empire State Building again became the tallest building in New York and the second in The United States.
It shoul be exciting at first sight!
The second most visited atraction in New York it is The Statue Of Liberty. The Statue Of Liberty it is considered as one of of the most important New York's landmarks. The Statue Of Liberty is located on a 12 acre island. It is 46 meters tall, but with the pedestal and the foundation, it is 93 meters tall. It was a gift from friendship to the people from France to the people of U.SA. Also it is a symbol of freedom and democracy.
I would imagine looking up that tall and beautiful lady made of pure copper. It shoul be an amazing experience!
Personally the next should be Central Park. It is one of the most beautiful and huge urban parks in the world. It is located in the borought of Manthattan with 845 acres. While much of the park looks natural, it is in fact almost entirely landscape. It contains several looking-natural lakes and ponds, extensive walking tracks (I would like to walk in this park with my dog one day), two ice- skating rings, the Central Park Zoo. Also, the Conservatory Garden, a large area of natural woods, etc.. I mean, what else would you like to look for in a park? I think it is an amazing and complete park ,which you can spend a very nice and fun day with your family.
Metropolitan Museum is a very interesting and cultural place that you should not miss in your visiting to Ney York. It was established in 1870 and it is located on 5th Avenue in Manthattan. It is one of the world's largest art galleries. The museum is also a home of more than two millions works of art, like paintings, sculptures, encyclopedic collections,etc.. divided into nineteen culatorian departments.
Rockefeller Center in another place you ought to visit, at least to see the modern architecture. It is a complex with 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres. It is located on Midtown Manthattan. It was founded by Rockefeller's family in 1930. It has a lot of stores and theaters, also it is well known as the country's City Hall. Its ice-skating ring is very famous and it has bee included in some movies tracks. The best season for visiting New York should be on November throw December in order to see the amazing Chritsmas tree. It is usually 75 to 90 feet tall and has been put up since 1931. It has lit all Rockefeller Center every Chritsmas. It has became a tradition in this special plaza mall. It ought to be a beautiful view that makes you feel the Holly's spirit!
In fact, as you can see, I could not finish for a while talking about New York. There are a lot of sites for visiting, so that you can spend amazing choices for both daytime and nighttime amousement. Nevertheless, you have to be quiet careful there in order to keep in mind that it is also one of the most dangerous cities in the world.
That is why New York shoud be just for vacation!

A healthy way to live......

I like talking about healthy balanced diets. I find it pretty interesting topic. Everytime I read or talk with someone about this I often learn newer attractive things.
It is amazing how people put so much importance on it in order to improve their appearance and also to avoid disease. On the other hand, nowadays there are a lot of overweight and obese people, at least 300 million of them clinically obese. That is why it is the majority risk for chronic disease, including: diabetes, cardiobascular deseas, hypertension and certain forms of cancer.
So, why people do not make an effort in order to be healthier? I think, it is because most of the people follow their family bad habits roles, and also they like going on an easier way to eat, because it is faster to get tacos and tortas on the streets than preparing meal at home. Personally I think, that is a totally wrong way to be. Because, you have to think

that "you are what you eat".
Since I was a little child I have learned about how to balance "the food pyramid". I think it is enjoyable to make nutrition by variety. Thanks God neither my family nor me have never had obesity problems; I think it is because we were always used to having good eating habits. Eventhough I was three times pregnant, I have never had to be on an extrict diet to loose weight. The only diet I have always followed is by eating healthy food. I mean, trying to eat as better as I could.
The largest part of our diet should consist of fruit, vagetables and grains; they provide energy, also a variety of vitamins like C, A, E and antioxidants for the body to avoid disease. The best are those that are colorfull (have a componenet called betacaroten) as mention some of my favorite like, carrots, spinach, broccoli, bell peppers, tomatoes, celery. Also I enjoy eating fruit, I love all of them; kiwis, mangoes and pineapple make me creazy; ahhh, and so, I believe in that English saying: "a delicious juicy apple a day keeps the docotor away" .
A moderate amount of protein food; they are compound that are responsible for most of the vital body's functions; also, these should be eaten to get stronger muscles when you like to be fitness. My favorites are any kind of fresh fish, turkey breast, salmon and tuna, because they provide the most protein. Red meat should be eaten only one or two times per week. Also, daily products are so important on a balanced diet, especially to have stronger bones and teeth. My favorite is low-fat yogurth with natural honey and granola. I think it is a fabulous energy breakfast.
Oils, including unsaturated fats are important too, like olive oil, avocado, walnuts, almonds, fish oil, etc.. They contain lot of omega 3 that is very important to mantain healthy function within the body.
Sugars forms only a small part of our diet; they give us part of energy, but also a kind of pleasure, especially for those who can not avoid eating some desserts like ice cream, choclates etc. You may eat them, but just rarely times, not vey often, well; "a little poison will not kill you". Many people may think it is difficult to follow because eating habits are set in early chilhood. But, just think..it worths doing it.
Other important point to keep in mind is by drinking a lots of natural water, at least two liters per day. More water should be drunk by fruit juices or any other kind of liquids. Personally, I usually like to drink coffee in the mornings , so, I know I have to drink more natural water the rest of the day long in order to remove from my body.
Another so important advice is either practicing any kind of sport or having a work-out rutine. Machines to practice cardiobasculare rutines are a good alternative and one of the most recommended in order to keep metabolism in a good way. Personally I like fast walking or jogging at the park, that helps me to give up my daily stress. Also they remove toxins and burn fatty from the body in order to keep a healthier and good shape.
Nowadays, people like practicing lifting- weight at the gym; personally, I think it is a faster way to get muscle tone. You may combine both rutines.
I consider myself as a physical exercise and healthy food fan. Through my life I have seen and known many people that have changed their lives, including either on physically or mentally ways, just by following healthy piece of advice. I have too, so, I can prove myself that it is a total way to be and feel really great!!

Life goes on....

I am a kind of a person who likes to share moments with the family especially my children, they are the most important to me. I like going either to the beach or to the movies on weekends; it is a real pleasure for me to spend a quiet family day. On weekdays I am always in a rush because I have a part-time job in the mornings and studying in the afternoons, so I am at lunch and dinner time with my son and daughter talking everything about them, also I come home on my free school's periods when I do not have class. It has been so hard living my life like this, but I think it is something that I always wanted to do , but I could not realize it because I got married too young and later on I had my first baby. I used to have my husband's support so that is why I never had to work or study. My only role was as a housekeeper to take care of my children. Then, everything changed in our lives so I had to take the decision to start to work. At first it was so difficult for me because neither I was use to working out of home nor enough qualified to get a job earning a good salary. I began working as a saleswoman with different companies. My first important job was in an Insurance Company. The Company offered me a sale course in order to get a good training to be able to do it in a better way. It was very interesting to sell life and medical insurances. By doing so, I earned good commissions. I noticed that I was good at it. I sold many of them to almost all my relatives, friends and also to people that were recommended by them. That made me so proud of myself because people trusted me. At least that part of my life was fine. The only person who has always given me his support is my father, he never let me down.

After that time I thought that I could give some English classes to those students that needed extra help with homework, also, I used to review my children's work. So every afternoon, I had at home, more than three children reviewing their homework. It was a nice job for me because I was also with my children. It was when I decided to restart all over again with my English skills. I had learned it since I was in high-school and had the opportunity to study in a boarding school for a year. It was in a small town called St. Thomas, located in Ontario, Canada. It was an amazing experience to live there also visiting beautiful places like Niagara Falls or The C.N tower in Toronto. I still keep really good memories from the moments that I had in that country. Also I met nice people and made very good friends there . Eventhough I had studied English long time ago, I have not forgotten it at all. But, I know that I need to keep practicing. That is why I want to put my best effort in this subject in order to improve all my English skills.
